Aarseth in his recent " Cybertext: Perspectives on Ergodic Literature" can be thought of as a second generation hypertext theorist. He is someone extremely familiar with computers and digital media, including online environments (MUDs and MOOs), electronic games, the Internet, and hypertext. This familiarity is, I suspect, a product of having grown up with such things as a day to day event or object, so unlike most of the hypertext theorists we've been studying Aarseth is someone who has not so much come from literature into hypertext, but who comes from 'playing' with computers into hypertext.
